Australia charges a single GST of 10% on most goods and services. Once turnover reaches AUD 75,000 a year you must register, and registered sellers issue a tax invoice, a document that legally must show the words “Tax invoice”, the seller’s ABN (11-digit Australian Business Number), and the GST amount or a “Total price includes GST” statement. For invoices of AUD 1,000 or more the buyer’s identity or ABN is required too; below AUD 82.50 a full tax invoice isn’t needed to claim a GST credit.
