How to create and send an invoice

Signed-in senders build an invoice at /invoices/new, then share it as a private link or email it to the client's billing contacts.

Step 1: Open the invoice builder

From your dashboard, go to New Invoice. The document-type toggle at the top is set to Invoice by default, so you can leave it as is.

Step 2: Pick the recipient

Choose a saved customer from the customer picker, or enter the recipient company, contact name, and email by hand.

Step 3: Fill in the required fields

Set the issue date, the due date (use a Net 7, Net 30, Net 60, or Net 90 chip), the currency, and at least one line item with a description, quantity, and price. The invoice number is generated for you unless you type one.

Step 4: Create the draft

Click Create Invoice. This saves a draft and opens the invoice detail page.

Step 5: Copy the share link or email it

On the detail page, the share box has a Copy link button for sharing out of band. To email it, use the Send now button in the recipients block (you can preview first with a test email).
