What should a home repair estimate include?

A home repair estimate should describe the repair, estimated labor and materials, and a trip or assessment charge, plus a validity period and your business details. Note that it is based on an initial assessment and that concealed damage found during the work is quoted before proceeding.

Is a repair estimate binding?

Usually no: a repair estimate projects the cost from what is visible at assessment, and the final invoice reflects the actual work. Concealed damage can change the scope. State that clearly and quote any newly found work before doing it, so the customer approves the change.
