What should a mechanic's invoice include?
A mechanic's invoice should identify the vehicle (year, make, model, and often the VIN or plate), the diagnostic performed, parts with quantities, and labor at your shop rate. Add shop supplies, any disposal fee, and warranty terms on parts and labor. Total it clearly and note that payment is due on completion.
How do you itemize parts and labor on a mechanic invoice?
List each part as its own line with the quantity and price, and put labor on separate lines at your hourly shop rate or a flat book time. Keeping parts and labor apart makes the invoice easy for the customer to check, and many shops credit the diagnostic fee toward the repair once it is authorized.
Is this mechanic invoice template free?
